The Springfield Campus project for the Corsham Community Area has achieved the successful completion of a significant milestone with the unanimous approval of the planning application by Wiltshire Council’s strategic planning committee.
The work by the Community Operations Board (COB) in collaboration with Wiltshire Council’s preferred architects for this pilot project, Alec French Architects, follows extensive consultation with the community area as a whole, supported by the Area Board.
But the real work is only now about to begin, with the consideration that will need to be given to the many processes and activities that need to be undertaken to ensure that the Community Campus delivers the ambition of both Wiltshire Council and the community.
The creation of this ultimate vision for the Campus should engage many people across the Corsham Area, Lacock, Colerne and Box as well as those areas technically outside the Community Area but who inevitably have an interest in what is happening. Biddestone for example.
The COB will be looking at the Vision, Governance, Engagement, Staffing, Partnerships, Access and Travel that have to come together to deliver a successful campus, from day one. All will require new insight and discussion with Wiltshire Council, Council Services and service deliverers such as the Police, as well, crucially, as the Community.
